This Wednesday, October 12, Dziki Warszawa will host AZS AGH Kraków. After a successful trip to Wrocław, which ended with a win over WKK (75-73), the competition returns to the Warsaw Circle.
Fans of the capital team know very well that duels with the "Akademiki" from Krakow are not the easiest. Last season, the Dziki had to admit the superiority of their rivals twice. The meeting in Krakow ended with a decisive victory of the hosts 75-58. The rematch in Warsaw was more even and, although full of emotions, also ended with an unfavorable result. The Dziki lost after overtime 76-79.
"Wataha" has had a successful start to the season. Coach Krzysztof Szablowski's players defeated the newcomer from Poznań 62-54 in the opening game. A week later, they won 75-73 in Wrocław against the local WKK.
The leader of the Warsaw team is its captain, Grzegorz Grochowski, who has started his third season with Dziki. "Grochu" is scoring an average of 14 points per game in the current Suzuki 1st Men's League campaign.
Important elements of coach Szablowski's puzzle are also the new acquisitions of "Wataha". Michał Aleksandrowicz , Mateusz Bartosz and Alan Czujkowski , players with experience in the basketball top league. The previous meetings have shown that the aforementioned three will be the terror of the first league courts.
Dziki's rivals, AZS AGH Kraków, are an unpredictable team - as we saw last season. Although the start of the season didn't go their way, they are still a dangerous rival.
The team, led by Wojciech Bychawski, started the season with two defeats - against Śląsk Wrocław reserves and Kotwica Kołobrzeg.

Above all, tenacity . The last match of the team from Krakow showed that they should not be underestimated. The AZS AGH basketball players were able to make up for a 17-point deficit to their rivals and were very close to changing the result a few minutes before the final siren.
The Krakow team is distinguished by its youthful imagination, combined with a touch of experience. In coach Bychawski's team, effective scorers come to the fore. This season, these are certainly Szymon Sobiech and Szymon Szmit . Experienced Paweł Zmarlak , who has just started his 13th season on the first league parquets, tries to keep a cool head.
